Outlook Express

  • Launch Outlook Express application
  • From the Tools menu, select Accounts
  • Select the Mail tab at the top of the page
  • Select the appropriate e-mail account
  • Click the Properties button in the right column
  • Select the Servers tab at the top of the page
  • Ensure your Outgoing mail (SMTP) is specified
  • Ensure the box My Server Requires Authentication is checked
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the Close button

 

Microsoft Outlook

  • Launch Microsoft Outlook application
  • From the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts
  • Ensure the button View or change existing e-mail accounts is selected and click Next.
  • Select the appropriate e-mail account and click the Change button
  • Ensure your Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is specified
  • Click the More Settings button
  • Click the Outgoing Server tab
  • Ensure the box My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked
  • Ensure the button Login as is selected
  • Enter your e-mail username and e-mail password in the required areas
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the Next button
  • Click the Finish button
     

Mozilla Thunderbird

  • Launch Mozilla Thunderbird application
  • From the Tools menu, select Accounts Settings
  • Select Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the left column
  • Select the appropriate e-mail account and click the Edit button
  • Ensure your Server name is specified
  • Ensure the box Use name and password is checked
  • Input your full e-mail address - i.e. user@domainname.com
  • Ensure the button No is selected under Use secure connection
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the OK button

Eudora

  • Launch Eudora application
  • From the Tools menu, select Options...
  • Click the Sending Mail icon in the left category list
  • Ensure your SMTP Server is specified
  • Ensure the box Allow authentication is checked
  • Click the OK button

 

Opera

  • Launch Opera application
  • From the Tools menu, select Mail and chat accounts...
  • Select the appropriate e-mail account and click the Edit button
  • Select the Servers tab
  • Ensure the Outgoing SMTP server is specified
  • Ensure your Authentication for Outgoing SMTP server is Auto
  • Enter your email username and password
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the Close button

Pegasus Mail

  • Launch Pegasus Mail application
  • Click on Tools then  Internet options…
  • Internet Mail Options
  • Click on General
  • Click on Sending (SMTP) tab and click Add
  • SMTP definitions for sending mail  New
  • Enter a name for this definition: e.g  e-mail SMTP
  • Server host name: (enter your SMTP server name here, refer to your account settings sheet)
  • Click on the Security tab
  • SMTP Authentication: check ON Login to SMTP server using the following details
  • i.   Username: enter your e-mail username
    ii.  Password: enter your e-mail password
  •   Click OK > Highlight e-mail SMTP > click "Select" button.
      • Settings controlling the way mail is sent: turn on all EXCEPT the last one
      • Click OK

IncrediMail

  • From the main screen open the Tools menu and then select Accounts...
  • Select the appropriate e-mail account and click the Properties button
  • Click on the Servers tab
  • Ensure the box My server requires authentication is checked
  • Click More Settings... button
  • Select Log on using
  • Enter your e-mail username and password
  • Ensure the box Remember password is checked
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the Close button

 

 Foxmail

  • Launch the Foxmail Application
  • Click on Account
  • Select Property and then click on the Mail Server section
  • Click Setup
  • Enter your e-mail username and password.
  • Click “OK

  i.Scribe

  • Launch iScribe application
  • Click on File > Selection “Options”
  • Click on the Accounts tab
  • Select the appropriate e-mail account and click the Properties button
  • Select the Send tab
  • Check the ESMTP authentication box
  • Enter your e-mail username and password
  • Click the OK button

Courier

  • Launch Courier application
  • Click on Mailbox navigate to Accounts then Properties ( Select your mailbox)
  • Click on the Mail Server tab
  • Under Outgoing Mail Server, click Edit
  • Highlight the account and press Edit
  • Ensure the box This server requires Authentication is checked
  • Click User info
  • Select user supplied from the drop down menu
  • Click OK until you have exited to the main menu

AK-Mail

  • Launch AK-Mail application
  • Click Account on the general menu and select Settings
  • Select the Send tab
  • Click Advanced Settings
  • Select Authentication thru RFC 2554
  • Click the OK button

Netscape Mail

  • Launch Netscape Mail application
  • Click on Edit.
  • Click on mail and Newsgroups settings
  • In the settings window, click on Outgoing server (SMTP)
  • Put a check in the box Use name and password
  • Type your username in the Username field
  • Use secure connection (SSL) should be set to never
  • Click on Ok
  • When you send your first email netscape mail will ask for your account password, enter your email passsword. Check the box for remember password if you wish.
