Eudora version 6.x For Mac OS 10.2 and later. (This will not work with 10.0 - 10.1)

  • Launch Eudora application
  • From the Special menu, select Settings
  • Click on the Sending Mail icon in the left category list
  • Ensure your SMTP server is specified
  • Ensure the box Allow Authentication or Allow Authorization is checked
  • Click OK to exit the Settings menu

 Application version 1.3 - 2.0 (OS 10.3 'Panther' and 10.4 'Tiger')

  • Launch Mail application
  • From the Mail menu, select Preferences
  • Select the Accounts icon at the top of the window
  • Select the appropriate e-mail account in the Accounts column
  • Click on the Server Settings button
  • Ensure your Outgoing Mail Server is specified
  • Ensure the Server Port used is 25
  • Select Password from the Authentication drop down menu
  • Type your e-mail username in the User Name field
  • Type your e-mail password in the Password field
  • Click the OK button
  • Close the preferences window

Netscape 6 and 7

  • Launch Netscape application
  • From the Windows menu, select Mail & Newsgroups
  • From the Edit menu, select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings...
  • Select Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the left column
  • Ensure your Server Name is specified
  • Ensure the Server Port used is 25
  • Ensure the box Use name and password is checked
  • Type your e-mail username in the User name field
  • Click OK button

Netscape Communicator 4.7

  • Launch Netscape Communicator application
  • From the Edit menu, select Preferences
  • From the Mail & Newsgroups in the left category list, select Mail Servers
  • Ensure the Server Port used is 25
  • Type your e-mail username in the Outgoing mail server user name field
  • Click the OK button

 

Thunderbird 1.5

  • Launch Thunderbird application.
  • From the Tools menu, select Account Settings.
  • Select Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the left column
  • Select the appropriate account and click the Edit… button
  • Ensure your Server Name is specified
  • Ensure the Server Port used is 25
  • Ensure the box User name and password is checked
  • Type your e-mail username in the User Name field
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the OK button

 

Entourage 2004 (Earlier versions of Entourage will not work.)

  • Launch Entourage 2004 application
  • From the Tools menu, select Accounts
  • In the Mail pane, select the appropriate e-mail account and click the Edit button at the top of the window
  • In the Account Settings pane, ensure your SMTP server is specified
  • Select the button Click here for advanced sending options
  • Ensure the box SMTP server requires authentication is checked
  • Ensure the button Use same settings as receiving mail server is checked
  • Close the window or click anywhere in the main Edit Account window and click OK
  • Close the Accounts window
